As a Staff Professional, this individual will perform day to day activities required for field construction materials testing and special inspection services, construction materials laboratory materials testing services, and support of geotechnical exploration and engineering services. We anticipate that the responsibilities will be broad and may include special assignments intended to improve selected aspects of management of the company’s service lines..

Responsibilities include:

Organization / People

  • Provide field and laboratory construction materials testing and Special Inspection services.
  • Provide technical expertise to other field and laboratory staff in the performance of their testing and inspection services.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of field and laboratory staff.
  • Field and laboratory staff training, and support certification and credentialling opportunities for technical and professional development.
  • Routinely visit project sites to support and engage field staff.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule work with clients and contractors, to meet client service, technical, and quality requirements.
  • Provide frequent and consistent monitoring and progress of current and upcoming projects. 
  • Conduct annual field and laboratory staff performance reviews.
  • Manage CMT equipment, supplies, and fleet.
  • Develop and update laboratory procedures and other items as required by the laboratory QMS.

Project Management

  • Supervise / preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, staff availability and pricing to achieve desired profitability.
  • Manage projects for key clients or key projects including project deliverables, billing, and AR.
  • Maintain project schedule status and communicate with Clients., 
  • Perform field work as needed.  
  • Develop understanding of project-related risk and be familiar with company risk policies
  • Support the firm in cross-selling of other services in support of the overall firm and the client’s best interest..
  • Display conduct that portrays a positive company brand with name recognition in their field of work and for the company.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study preferred;
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field, or 2 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science and Engineer in Training (EI);
  • Experience in a supervisory or management capacity preferred;
  • The ability to handle multiple projects and/or internal duties simultaneously;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language, required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment), required.
  • An understanding of professionalism and tact, relative to interaction with all members of the design and construction team, including (but not limited to) site laborers, project owners, site superintendents, architects, design engineers, and project managers.
